Jessica Szohr Interview: August 2009

I just bought a Sony Ericsson G700 in hopes of play testing with a Sony G-series streamyx application phone, since they are the newest batches of Internet Access Provider smart phones for this year. Of the two G series models, I had to choose the G700 over the G900 mainly because of budget constraints. And also because everybody's been going for the G900 so it became very appealing to choose streamyx internet less expensive sister model, just to tread the path least traveled.

Since Sony Ericsson's G-series mobile phones are targeted at the mass consumer, and the fact that it is the cheaper model in the series, it is safe to assume that the Sony Ericsson G700 will be priced low compared to tmnet prepaid smartphones with similar feature port klang malaysia with the added advantage of extra capabilities that are still relatively new to smartphones.

The G700's biggest selling point is its ultra high quality TFT LCD touch screen. The 2 and a half inch screen is capable of displaying 262k of colors at once, and has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, making it ideal for showing image stills and full motion video. And while the internal Streamyx Combo memory can be considered small at only 160 Internet Services the G700 supports memory expansion by using Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Micro, mobile broadband the total possible memory to 8 Gigabyte, and more if you consider that you can hotswap memory sticks, so you can have Dsl Filter Rj45 entire home movie collection in a bunch of memory sticks. It's much cheaper and portable than a portable dvd and all your box sets.

The actual phone design is exactly what you'd expect from a Sony Ericsson mobile phone. The G700 is sleek and stylish, its candybar look perfectly complemented by rounded edges and ribbed back lid. The ribbed back lid also serves a safety function Satellite And Internet Package it provides added grip and stability. The units currently available are silk bronze in color, but there are dark brown and light brown models due to be released soon.

The G700 is really easy to handle, as its diminutive stature (4.2 x 1.9 x 0.5 inches) and light weight (99 g) allows the possibility of using its keypad with one hand. Although you do have to use the other hand if you're going to take advantage of its touch screen capability (or if you're going to use the included stylus).

The data transfer capabilities supported by the G700 are okay except for one glaring omission. While it supports Bluetooth and USB, there is no support for Wi-Fi, which is kind of surprising, since Sony is fond of supporting WLAN, and in fact, even its portable console, the PSP has native support for Wi-Fi connectivity. I suspect its absence is the result of lowering the cost of the G700, seeing as to how the G900 has Wi-Fi support.

I've taken it to work a couple of times, and the Sony Ericsson G700 performs very well as a regular smartphone and can even turn other people's heads so you can brag about your new faster internet screen thingie". Just don't tell them how inexpensive it is.
